Mr Hamada was again invited to attend the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) not just as an attendee but also to give presentations at the congress.
ESCRS was founded in 1991 to promote education and research in the field of implant and refractive surgery and to advance and promote the study and practice of ophthalmology. ESCRS seeks to promote and support research in the field of intraocular lens implantation and refractive surgery and the dissemination of the useful results thereof. ESCRS has over 7,500 members from 130 countries world-wide.
At this year’s congress, which ran from 7th – 11th October and held in the beautiful city of Lisbon in one of their state of the art conference venues, Mr Hamada led a course about the uses of corneal cross linking entreating various diseases and modern uses of corneal cross linking in various cases including keratoconus. During Mr Hamada’s presentation top leaders in the field also contributed and they included; Professor Seiler from Zurich, Professor Hafezi from Geneva, Professor David O’Brart from London, Dr Arthur Cummings from Dublin, and Dr Koller from Zurich. Mr Hamada also spoke about the uses of corneal cross linking in children.
