Does lens replacement hurt?
SAMER HAMADA REVEALS WHY LENS REPLACEMENT IS NOT A PAINFUL PROCEDURE
Lens replacement surgery is exactly like cataract surgery, where the surgery is done under topical anaesthesia. It is not a painful operation, as we put drops in the eye at the start of the surgery. These drops numb the eye. It stings a little bit, but very soon, the eye will be very comfortable.
The whole process of the surgery takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and it is very comfortable. Patients rarely complain about any pain during the operation. If anything, they describe it to be a different experience or a little bit uncomfortable, but it is not a painful procedure.
