Once the eye is prepared and ready, then we take you to the theatre. In the theatre, we want to make sure that you are comfortable in the bed and laying flat, face-up, watching the microscope, which is a bright light on top of you. The surgery takes 10 to 15 minutes. It’s a very quick operation. You won’t feel any pain during the surgery. It’s just an experience, probably see some lights changing. Some patients describe it as looking through a kaleidoscope, but it’s really not a painful procedure. You may only feel water dripping on the eye, like a touch sensation or a little bit of tightness during the surgery.

But as it is only 10 to 15 minutes, you will feel nothing.
